| My Dell D820 LaptopI have recently upgraded my laptop for work to the Dell Latitude D820 model. It has a nice 15.4 inch Wide screen and a 512 meg Quadro video card. This does allow for editing some nice video and pictures. I upgraded from a Panasonic Toughbook CF-51 semi rugged laptop which had a standard 15 inch screen but only did 1024x768 resolution with a 64 meg video card. So you might ask me - Which Laptop do you like best? - Well my answer would be a combination of both units. The Dell latitude D820 is not as superior in quality as the CF-51. The CF-51 has a fantastic keyboard which made typing very smooth which the Dell has a lot to be desired in the keyboard. The mouse pad is not as reliable as the Panasonic. The Dell's mouse pad could be better. I dont like the scrolling option that it has and it is not as easy to click the mouse by tapping the pad. I cant say that I am sold on the Dell. I still have my Panasonic Toughbook CF-51 set to the side just in case I get ready to throw this Dell out the window. On one hand I like the video screen size and how it handles the video. Yet I like the quality feel of the Panasonic Toughbook. I will say that if I come across a Panasonic Toughbook CF-52 I will dump this dell for that model which has the wide screen and good video card. I am just not a big Dell lover.
